Holy Communion, or the Lord's Supper, originated in the Passover Meal to which Jesus gave new meaning on the night before his crucifixion.  We believe it is through this common meal (symbolized with the bread and cup) that we experience Christ among us.  United Methodists believe Christ is present in Spirit, not actual flesh and blood.  All who claim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome -- regardless of church affiliation.  We celebrate open communion.  While children may not understand the full meaning of this sacrament, they are invited to share in it as part of God's family.

Communion is celebrated in all worship services on a quarterly basis.  During Lent, Holy Communion is served weekly during the 11:00 am service.  Other times of the year include Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday.   Our pastors take the sacrament to shut-in and homebound members during Holy Week, and by request at any other time.  By arrangement, Holy Communion can be celebrated by various groups in other settings.

Christ himself welcomes you to this holy meal, "Eat this bread and drink this cup, come to me and never be hungry. Eat this bread, drink this cup, trust in me and you will not thirst."
