We are proud that, tonight, and every night, more people have a place to sleep because of United Methodists in every state in the union and around the world.

We are proud that United Methodists have historically been known as people who see the needs of others and work to meet them. As one example, we feed more than a million children every day.

We are proud that our United Methodist heritage gives us a connection that spans the globe.

We are proud that when we walk into a United Methodist Church anywhere, it’s "my church."

We are proud that our United Methodist Committee on Relief can be at a disaster site within hours, assessing the needs and working to meet them — and still be there coordinating volunteers long after everyone else goes home.

We are proud that we stand in the tradition of inclusiveness and acceptance expressed in the way Jesus called us to love alike, not think alike.

We are proud that we are a denomination which affirms, "It matters less who goes to your church than where your church goes."

We are proud that a warm-hearted, personal experience with Jesus is central to our teaching.

We are proud that we are a church that owns and operates more colleges, more children’s homes, and more homes for the elderly, and more hospitals than any other.

We are proud that we are a church that gives more to others than we spend on ourselves.
