ADULT VOCAL CHOIRS

Chancel Choir

Rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 pm in the choir room during the school year. It is open to all high school aged through adults. They sing a wide variety of musical styles and genres of the church music literature. They are a part of worship at the 9:30 and 11:00 Sunday Morning worship services as well as Lenten, Easter and Christmas worship occasions.

Seasonal Choir

For those who cannot commit to weekly participation in the Chancel Choir, a seasonal opportunity is available. There will be one Saturday rehearsal approximately six weeks before the Christmas or Easter season begins. This will give you a concentrated opportunity to begin learning the seasonal music. Then, each Wednesday following, the first thirty minutes of the regular rehearsal (7:30 to 8:00) will be spent on rehearsing this music. Watch the weekly and monthly publications of the church to see when the opportunities are available to be a part of the Christmas or Easter Music.

Summer Choir

At Carmel United Methodist Church, the music ministry continues through the summer. This is an opportunity to be a part of the music ministry at a time that can be a bit slower paced. There are two Wednesday rehearsals at the beginning of the summer where we rehearse all of the music for the summer months. Participants are given a schedule of music that will be sung each Sunday during the summer. After these two rehearsals, members who are in town gather on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM to rehearse the music for that Sunday’s worship. They then sing in one or two worship services that Sunday. Participants are asked to sign out for the Sundays they are unavailable during this summer season. Watch the weekly and monthly publications of the church to see when the opportunities are available to be a part of the Summer Choir.

CHILDREN CHOIRS

Children's Music

This is one of our choirs for children. It is divided into two age groups--those currently in school grades K-2 and 3-5. Our purpose is to provide the children of our church and community with arts activities that will help them learn about God’s love and share his love with others. This will be done in a fun, friendly, and welcoming environment.  These groups meet in the adult and children’s choir rooms at 6:30 pm on Wednesdays.

Cherub Choir

Our youngest group of singers meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Kindergarten Sunday School classroom. This group is open to children age 3 through 5. They are led by a volunteers in the music ministry.
