The CUMC Food Pantry is a food distribution ministry for residents of Hamilton County. This ministry reaches the hungry in Hamilton County, serving an average of 260 families each month. The need is great, even in Hamilton County.
Hamilton County Kids Coats is a Hamilton County ministry held at CUMC each November. Throughout the year, CUMC and other area churches collect new and gently used coats, gloves, hats and boots and distributes them to children in need. In 2010 approximately 5000 coats were collected, washed, and distributed. The distribution date for 2011 is November 5 from 7 am-1pm. Contact Linda at

Fletcher Place is a Friday morning breakfast ministry at Fletcher Place shelter in downtown Indianapolis. This ministry reaches approximately 125 people each Friday morning. CUMC volunteers on the 4th (and when present, the 5th) Friday of the month. Contact Richard Carriger at

Soup's On is a Sunday hot lunch ministry at Roberts Park UMC in downtown Indianapolis. This ministry reaches and feeds approximately 250 people each Sunday. CUMC volunteers 4 times per hear, plus provides much-needed material and monetary support. Contact Sherry Lerner at

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is a metropolitan Indianapolis ministry in which CUMC (and several other churches of various denominations) provides temporary shelter and meals to homeless families. Our next hosting date is the week of May 1-8, 2011. Contact Dale Hughes at

Second Starts is a metropolitan Indianapolis ministry which provides gently-used household items to families who are transitioning from homelessness into a home of their own. For more information, go to www.secondstarts.org
Comfort Closet.
