CUMC is sending a mission team to Henderson Settlement near the Kentucky-Tennessee border in Appalachia from Sunday, June 10 to Saturday, June 16. This will be the 11th Family Mission Trip since 2001 (missing only 2006 when we redirected our efforts for Katrina relief in Mississippi). This trip is open to any men, women and teens interested in light construction and painting and generally learning how God works through each of us to help those in need.
These trips offer the opportunity to learn basic life-skills while building on our relationship with God and other Christians. Working, eating, sleeping, praying, playing and more eating side-by-side creates a bonding that lasts forever. The cost is $225 per person which covers transportation, project costs and meals, except for Wednesday lunch (rest and play day) and lunch on Sunday and Saturday while we travel. Two different opportunities to join Rev. Patti Payntor, a group from CUMC and a group from St. Marks UMC in Carmel.
