Adult Education

There are many opportunities for Bible Study including Adult Sunday School, Sr. Pastor's Bible Study, Small Groups in host homes, and Wed. Night Friends & Family classes. In addition to these opportunities, we would like to offer some of the long-term Bible studies listed below. Disciple Bible Classes for 2008-2009

These year-long studies seek to develop strong followers of Jesus Christ through regular in-depth study of the Bible. We are currently taking registrations for these classes.

Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study (Disciple Bible I)

 
Read more than 70% of the Bible!  An intense study of the scriptures and application to life.  A very powerful study that brings you closer to God through His Word.
This is a prerequisite for the other Disciple studies.
Meeting time: Thursdays at 7:00 pm beginning September 11 at CUMC and
                      Fridays at 9:00 am beginning August 22 at St. Marks UMC in Carmel.

Into the Word, Into the World (Disciple Bible II)

 
Deepen your own spirituality as you study Creation, Covenant and Gospel
(Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts) 32 week study, including daily personal study.
Meeting time: Wednesdays at 9:00 am beginning September 10 at CUMC.

Remember Who You Are (Disciple Bible III)

Connect with God as you study the Prophets and the letters of Paul and be challenged as these books continue to be relevant in our society today. 32 week study, including daily personal study.
Meeting time: Tuesdays at 7:00 pm beginning September 9 at CUMC

First Place- Diet Bible Study Workshop
Christ-centered health program with an emphasis on weight control and mental and spiritual balance. 
Meeting time: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm beginning September 10, 2008.

Crown Ministries
This is much more than a money-management course. It is a 12-week, interactive, scripture based guide from the world's view to God's view of managing your monetary blessings. Meeting time: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm beginning September 10, 2008.

Sunday School - Sunday Mornings at 9:30; new members always welcome.
Sunday school is not just for kids!  Come grow in your faith Sunday mornings:

Cornerstone:  Meets in LL32.  (*Young & Middle Adults)
FOG (Followers of God):  A variety of topics and discussions with a focus on growth in the knowledge of the Bible.  Meets in LL34.  (*Middle Adults)
Fellowship Class:  Currently studying “Journey Through the Bible” and meets in the Conf. Room.  (*Mostly Senior Adults)
Empty-Nesters:  A Bible study and fellowship class.  Meets in Rm. 110.
(*Mostly Senior Adults but enthusiastically welcoming younger members)

This is an 8 week course study over The Beatitudes found in Mathew's Gospel the 5th chapter. We are going to look at spirituality through the eyes of Jesus and specifically through these eight teachings from the sermon on the mound. (check out these links to learn more about this study)
