Nick Markou, Custodian, was born in Messotamia, Kastoria, Greece and moved to the United States in 1968 with his wife, Pet, and one son, Bill. Nick came to New York City because four of his five brothers were living there. In New York he was a furrier for 27 years and his family grew with the addition of another son, Chris. He came to Indiana in 1995 because his wife’s family lives here. He has not had the opportunity to return to Greece but is thinking about the possibility.
