Small Groups 2006

This is my first small group study and it is definitely time well spent!  I was drawn to the study by the invitation Patty Lindley extended one Sunday morning.  The fruit of the spirit--love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control---are attributes that we as Christians all want to exhibit.  But, in this busy world and the here and now in which we are focused, it is easy to lose sight of these.  This study encourages us to think about these "fruits", to focus on them....and that gentle reminder is helpful to me.  The Study Guide and program materials ignite meaningful, relevant discussions.

By participating in this study I have met some wonderful people who offer new and different ways to think about things.  I reflect on a specific discussion when faced with an everyday challenge, and it enables me to approach that situation a little bit more positively.  We have a great group that is encouraging and easy to be around, yet we find time to review the material and take to heart the message we are hearing.  If each of us takes something away from this---a way to web the fruit of the spirit into our lives, with our friends and families, in our communities, wherever---we will all benefit as a result--and so will those we encounter.

Our group has continued meeting since the "40 Days of Purpose", and has been blessed this year with three new additions to our group.  We are having some great discussions and sharing as we study the Fruit of the Spirit and are trying to challenge one another each week to put what we have learned into action.  We laugh, we share, we eat, and we pray together each Tuesday evening.
